Alright, so I've got an idea for a command that I would find VERY useful in game and I'm hoping it might be easy to implement

Groupstay and Groupfollow

Groupstay
This command is used when you are leading a group of players and would like them to remain in position while you scout ahead and calm possible aggro mobs or check where they are and such. This command would continue to keep everybody grouped however not following the leader.

Groupfollow
This command would be used when leading a group that is no longer following you. This command would signal the other members of the group that it is safe to be following again.

Often when I am leading a group, I am required to tell my entire group to rest, wait for them to all rest, make sure they are all resting before I can scout out a potentially dangerous area so as to make sure nobody gets killed. I can also calm a large monster so as to make sure nobody in my group is harmed before I begin to attack it. Telling everybody to rest and stand up again is a major drag and slowdown. Dreylor used to remedy this by dimension dooring out of the room since nobody would follow him. This was an excellent solution when leading a group however not everybody can dimension door which is why I think adding these simple commands would be a GREAT asset for groups.

I can see a lot of abuses for such a command..such as running to a room with an aggro mob and leaving ppl there.

plus that wouldnt work with ppl that are following but not grouped?

Don't really see it being abused considering we could do that anyway
run to a room with an aggro mob and just recall yourself
pretty simple, if somebody does that to you... you don't follow them again
don't really see it being abused in that manner at all

and if people are following you but not grouped that would be tricky but the simple solution would be either
a) group that person
b) if you can't due to charisma or too low level, have them follow somebody else in the group
problem solved

:)

I disagree. This can already be done, like he said, with recalls. Or by making yourself invisible (if the mobile could not see invisible).

If someone were to do that, however, and were doing it out of character (read: not while roleplaying) I'd be lifting my eyebrows to say the least, one way or the other. In my opinion, anyone acting like that probably would not have many friends on the game, and would eventually be left in the dust due to their asshattery.

On a side note, underhanded tactics like you suggested, Elysiam, while not roleplaying, is not cool in my book. It actually kind of sounds like a good way for me to drop a ton of bricks on someone's head.

Agreed. This is a good way for me to get creative on someone. You really don't want that to happen.

plus this is not really a good rp command, there is no free will in this command.
in rp I will say "all wait here", instead of issuing a command to tell everyone to stay, ppl has to chose whether they want to stay or not

Nothing against any of this, but i think we have enough ways to "communication". I (not saying this idea would be put in) would rather see the time put into something different. Like fixing bugs on the dirks and other items from the new area's, some help (if needed) on the restring thing, etc, etc, etc.
