Are you guys kidding me?! Seriously.

I see a good amount of new people and random players logging on, looking for some fun to get into. Every time it's the same thing. We've got 80% of players camped out. NON-STOP.

For the longest I always thought.. you know. I understand staff is busy, but man! If we could get some staff involved in stuff, this place could get rolling again. I wanna say this right now, STAFF MEMBERS OF DL2, I am sorry for thinking you guys could do more. You people do enough. You people do more than enough.

The players of distant lands,.. WTF!? What on earth are we doing!? This mud has turned into a giant camp site! Like I said, 80% of the people here are just sitting on mobs camping out. Yes, I am guilty of it too. I got feed up after 3 days of camping a mob and took off. Ran around the town, thinking too myself, "Crist, I hope I didn't miss out on anything." NOPE! This place is a ghost town. Nobody too be seen.

We have people wanting to build the player base, then they sit around camping 24hrs a day.

I tried, I helped a few people a few months ago (yeah, I've said this before. But, that's the last time I seen any REAL newbs.) those people stopped playing because nobody was around. If you didn't use the "who" command, you'd think nobody was ever playing.

This entire mud is addicted to loading the next best equipment for themselves. That (too me) creates a very boring atmosphere.

I remember the days of logging on after missing a day or two and finding out I missed a war, a crazy rp, a crazy hunting party, FUN. You could miss an entire month and right now, nothing (player wise) would change.

THIS is why I think the player base will not build. Who wants to play a mud when it feels like it's just you playing!? I guess those 4 people I helped didn't.

If I offend any staff members, I'm sorry. NON of this is intended towards you at all. I think staff is doing more than asked of.

If I offend any players, then you're prolly one of those 80% I spoke of (remember, I included myself).

Well lizards, if you offended me; you'd have been of doing a decent job. Yet, what's the clarity of arguing this point. Let's try getting past the onslaught of , "But I do my part!" retorts and shoot straight into the aftermath of what you've stated.

You've given the thing you've missed prior when DL was at its' height. Rp War, Hunting parties, Possible random RP, and in general something that involved us. The core of distant lands. Heh, not even going to try and touch the item load thing. For the moment even those that show up doing that have a benifit of being on the who list. Let's not dabble too far off topic.

What you were saying is that when everyone was involved it made the right "atmosphere" for make you actually find it worthwhile to log on...

I too, am sort of tired of cutting the edges at staff saying that if you just did this we'd be on more often. Or if it was like this, it'd be better off.

I think we can all relate to a Baernov state of mind, that sometimes the hack'n'slash leveling up process of DL is the drag me down drug that causes us all to forget the glorified feeling we all share, for we've stayed here countless nights playing the game trying to figure it out.

Our aspirations to be apart of DL made us, so I'm not asking anyone for what they don't already have.
What I am asking you for though is something pretty serious.

Let's start scheduling times amongst us on the forums to show up for weekends, or whenever four-five of us get together. That's a good base number to start with for now, once things pick up we'll make more plans.

So I'm calling all you nerd junkies out.
We'll start it likes this.

Saturday June 27th, Central United States Time - somewhere around 10am-12pm, possibly even that afternoon around 5p.m.-7p.m.
I'll log on for some RP if anyone wants to extend out and see what they can schedule in..

This is only going to work if you involve yourself just a little bit folks.
Just us randomly rp'ing when we feel like it doesn't let us involve ourselves with one another other than through board posts. We've got this fear that conflict will arise in rp between us, if it should it'll just add details to the story.

So which of you kids is going to attend the playground and get DL back on the rehab track to the things we actually enjoy.

Honestly a VERY cool idea!! I would totally love to make your slotted RP time if I could, however I'll be at a wedding, otherwise I'd be there :) Here's hoping its a successful turnout and there's another for me to attend.

If anyone wants to push it back to Friday daytime or evening you might mention it here, I have no problem doing two seperate rp's even if it is just a small group.

Would love to try and leave Saturday's original time and date, but for those who can't make it in the morning, might give me some idea in the evening you'd be able to.

Anyways work in progress. Round two.
Hope you all have the time to show up for a bit.

This dwarf doesn't roll out of bed until the mid-afternoon. And I don't wake up until after I conduct my morning ritual of coffee and music. A time around or after 4pm central would be much better for me... Especially since it's a Saturday morning we are talking about here.

It is good to see a proactive approach to RP. You all should take a lesson from his endeavor, but shouldn't necessarily leave it to organized sessions. Take the time and develop your character whenever possible. What are his/her flaws? What drives him/her? The more character development there is, the easier it is for staff to maybe construct something for you people to enjoy. Write up short stories of the adventures you've undertaken much akin to what Nas has already done. Get out there, do up some RP, and above all enjoy it!

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend much of anything over this weekend for I'm entirely booked. Beyond that I would always love to be involved in RP. Remember, the more you do in character, the more likely you'll see things happen around you. :)
