BEAR IN MIND THIS IS *HIS* SIDE OF THE STORY. I WILL NOT BE POSTING MINE. I FEEL NO NEED TO AIR THE DIRTY HISTORY OF THIS LONG IN COMING SITUATION. RULES ARE RULES. THE ONLY THING I WILL SAY IS HIS ACCOUNT WAS LOCKED NOW TO STOP HIM FROM DELETING HIS CHARACTERS IN A YET AS FULLY RESOLVED SITUATION. AS ALWAYS, EACH PLAYER IS DEALT WITH INDIVIDUALLY DURING EACH SITUATION THAT ARISES. ADMINISTRATION TRIES ALWAYS TO BE FAIR TO ALL, BUT MOSTLY TO KEEP THE GAME BALANCED AND TRUE. WE DO NOT REPORT ALL HAPPENINGS TO EVERYONE. PLAYING HERE IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT.
Through much of this I will sound spiteful and angry and poke fun at myself and others. Please do not take it as disrespect, I am a little upset because my account just got locked.
Here's an example of what not to do to get your account banned.
I was with Aligor in a group in Kandaria of all lower level players for exp. Someone died to something, wasn't the Assassin, I think it was a servant or a mutt who loots. I think it was in the same room as the assassin that we killed it in and he looted a weapon off the mob that originally looted. I had to soon leave and figured that I'd help level the other guys with Gydin. None of us attacked the assassin, Aligor never touched the assassin. I recalled and got Gydin, flew over and killed the assassin. I was going to heal and sanc everyone up, blesses, levi's etc, and tank mobs for everyone because I had to leave work soon. I never got the chance. Myrrima was there immediatly and I was frozen. Looks like we were playing with a mortal character of Myrrima's. Hint... look for the O'bannon clan members = most likely a staffer and/or old school member with friends in high places.
So here' I'm frozen, and she's mentioning about how two of the four peoples silence isn't helping my case any. 1) I was frozen and couldn't speak! But I was still talking away because staff can see what you say when frozen. 2) The other mortal was her or a friend and was conveniently "afk". Everyone got off the hook for being first time offenders.
Next day, still frozen. I finally get to talk with Myrrima when she's ready and she tells me how I'm poisoning the game by getting people to multiplay and other rules I break and that it's not the first time. Everyone remember the tranfer of eq from Vladikus to Efori. I knowing told people to touch all the eq that Vladikus had? Nothing was said until the cracklers made it over. People had told us no before. I think Jorn even sent me a mail yelling at me for even asking him to do that. Big no no to do, even if I thought it was helping out someone. I still knew I was breaking the rules. This time, I had no thoughts that I was multiplaying. Many times before I've considered that things I did pushed the limit on the rules and I agree I've even done things I've seen other do and felt a little dirty about it. This time I had no second thought that I was multiplaying.
Here's the multiplaying rules and my responce underneath.
Multi-Playing

Multi-playing in any form is not allowed, the penalty for doing so can be
found in the "rules".
Multi-playing (multi-accounting) consists of the following:
1) Having access to more than one account at anytime.
---Which I don't.---
2) Using any character to spell up a friend and then grouping with that
friend with another character. (A good guideline is to wait 15 minutes
before grouping with another character that you've given spells to.)
---Which I didn't.---
3) Using your characters to benefit one another in any way, shape or form.
---I didn't benefit any of my alts in any way---
4) Using your character to retrieve another one of your character's corpse.
---Someone else had already ressurected the dead person while my alt was still grouped.---
5) Fighting the same creature with two different characters.
---No one in the group ever attacked the assassin.---
This list is not all inclusive, as we are sure that at some point someone
will find a way other than we have listed here. Best rule of thumb is to
always use common sense.
So the common sense thing. When I considered if I would be multi, without a doubt I stated no
because it didn't fall into any of these rules, or a stretch of these rules.
Myrrima gave me a choice. I either play DL but Gydin gets deleted with all his gear, money etc.
-or- My account gets banned. Considering I've had to leave a quest for my family. Spent more than two years on Gydin of mostly weekend playing just to get him where he's at. Almost permi'd twice more with Gydin, I permi'd one level 122 cleric already and the other clerics passed me up and are twice my size even for my level. I chose Banning. I'm not going to spend all that time again on another cleric when it's so obvious he won't succeed when staff apparently dislike me so much.
I tried to point out some things that other people do, but I agree, it wasn't about them, it was about me and how I've poisoned other players by my multiplaying and breaking rules. She said she'd look into it if I gave her times and dates etc... can't do that now can I because I'm banned. Very convenient for those uppers who bend the rules and get away with it without any resistance.
So that's my explanation to why I'm banned. I'm sure many will continue to question it. I've already had 4 people talk to me and tell me it's (a word I shall not repeat on a public board) and agreed that others get away with far worse. Myrrima told me that over the years, since some people look up to me as a friend, my breaking the rules is slowly poisoning the game. I'm sorry for all who feel that I'm a treacherous little man who has broken the rules at every turn and completely disregarded any entertainment I get from playing a game and interacting with interesting people I wouldn't ever otherwise meet. Stay away from me, I'm corrupt and will poison you all and you will all soon be breaking every rule there is and the game will fall into complete chaos and we might lose a few players... oh wait. It already ran through a cycle of that and we lost a lot of players, but it wasn't my fault. Anyone ever consider not playing DL because of me? No, but I can think of a few who have had people leave because of their actions. Some of those people don't play anymore either, good, but a few are still here, bad.
Did any of you know that years ago when I first started playing this game I'd mess around with a female player? By messing around I mean we'd do it rp style, yeah baby! We'd do it in the cottage near Tierana. I think Alendamar used to even watch. Who says you can't have fun late nights when you think no one is watching? That was when I had Gideon I think. I've well matured since then. Hrm, actually I'm still not that mature, I play a mudd.... Well she's no longer a player, sad for some, and we're still friends through AIM and emails. I've made a lifetime friend in the game in a girl I've never met. I think Myrrima knew of our messing around and she's held a grudge against me ever since that. Myrrima and I used to sit and talk about family, etc, a really long time ago, we used to have fun just talking, but something changed.
Much love all, we'll see if this is permanent or what's going on. I'm still a bit confused. It all happened so fast. Judge and Jury. If it's permanent, have fun loading my gear you little gear hogging piggies. Mwahaha. Please give it to people in need and not just hold it for your buddies.
I won't come back without Gydin. Unless talked into it heavily, it's just too much work for a usual weekend warrior with no soon intentions of getting a home cpu. And then even if/when I do/could come back, Myrrima still dislikes me for all my rule breaking and no telling how other staffers feel about me.
